Hi guys
Thanks for the welcome....
I haven't even seen the Castlemilk post yet...  This is all I looked into, but I am so busy just now I am torn between sitting here all night or getting on with the household/xmas come whatever else I should be doing stuff... So much to look at and not enough time to look at it...   But I think this is going to be a regular every night viewing... Can't wait to look at the rest...

I think I might be mentioned on the lost lands CD Rom somewhere as I helped the guy do it... I was one of the founder members of the Castlemilk History Group...He used a lot of our material to start him off...
But added to it himself through the Castlemilk Video/Arts Workshop
You will see the links to the Castlemilk History videos on Youtube on the "MySpace" link... Ther is one called "The Incomplete History of Castlemilk" (Our first exhibition) and there are 3 archaeological dig videos
That we got a grant for and commissioned GUARD to carry out the work.
So hey guys this is going to be fun scrolling through the site...
Flash I didn't know you stayed in Shettleston for a while... My mum and Dad came from there...
Catch up soon...

Hello Sue

Glad you could come and tune in - the site is brill - there should be a link from Facebook, get more members much like Hidden Glasgow for even their Facebook Page contains a few nuggets

Good Idea?? It could reach many more potential members

Maybe Flash, but it works both ways as Hidden Glasgow`s Facebook has been dormant for a while and most of the stuff there is commercial so it may or may not be a good idea...the admin on UG will decide.

Yip, Stuball - I may be able to help you here - Weesue can deffo back me up on that one haha

I have a compilation of images covering Castlemilk from before its beginnings up till it started to get the chop in the late 80's

I grew up there, my first cameras saw me taking pictures of its transistion and I have plenty of good images that I could and probably should put up on here, but they're all on negs just now till I get a proper scanner and Wee Sue was also a former resident

With ultimate respect to Streapadair and one or two others, I would like to add their pictures to the content I am about to pile into that thread - I'm sure they won't mind, it will complement what is a decent compilation when you see it

Look forward to seeing it. We're eager to build up the threads on the outer lying reservations (billy connolly joke).

Flash, can you go back any earlier ?

I'm dying for colour pics of Corpy Buses (late 1950's), routes 9 or 20 with destination board set for Drumchapel.

Love all of the above bus pics !
