Hello everyone I'm happy you liked the pictures that were posted.Today I have been searching through my archives to bring you some more pictures, you may have seen these before but I'm not sure due to being new to urban glasgow. I think I have covered a good part of the city so there is something for everyone.I know this is a 1970s forum but some of these pictures are from the mid 60's through to the mid 80's so I hope you don't mind. Again I have to say, I didn't take any of these pictures but I'm glad someone did!I would also like to say a big thanks to streapadair and those excellent pictures, this is one person who at least deserves the freedom of the city! These are pictures which would not look out of place in an exhibition about the history of the city.A big thanks to Flash for starting a forum which allows us all to share pictures of a great old city.Cheers Mustang!.
These are absolutly amazing..What a collection of different types of photographs..The one of Blackhill, and the Gorbals tenements coming down...superb...Lots of past presents coming soon
Wow. Fantastic collections, Flash and Mustang, thanks for putting them up. There were huge gaps in my coverage, I really just scratched the surface, and these go a long way towards filling them.
Cybers - the caption to Flash's first one is spot on. John Bonnar's (he was Celtic's goalkeeper in the 50s btw, never manager) pub was on the corner of Orr St, pic's looking along the south side of the street east to Wesleyan St.

Cheers for that Streap though for some reason i cannot place the Ham n Egg shop on the site of Crownpoint as i remember this on the Site of St Mungo's Academy though this could just be a misplacement through youth time and clouded judgement.
As for the manager thing ... That was listening to someone else as celtic is not my big thing though doing some research on a mtter nearer to my present home brought me into contact with this info around 6 or 7 weeks ago.
Born in West Calder he popped up on a non sporting matter, _________________ MY FLICKR

what a brilliant set of pic, love the old Springburn ones. Amazing how much the Gorbals has changed, i worked there a few years ago and i'm amazed at how different it used to look
this is from much earlier on in the thread (and i seen a pic in another thread)
does anyone have anymore information or photos of the Pinkston cooling tower and works?
