Excellent piece of work lowlight, that works really well. I think that sort of google earth overlays is one of the most useful things I've come across when looking into Glasgow's past.

At the risk of sounding greedy could you do any of the other ones in this series?

Thanks.

I've got an East End one from 18xx (can't remember exact date) and a City Centre map from 1909 to get scanned. Just need to pick them up so should be done in the next few days.

This time I'll get them as perfect as possible. I'm still not 100% satisfied with that one.

Rather than start a new thread I'll just put them here.

Could a mod possibly change the thread title please?

Change it to what? You start the thread so should be able to change it by editing the first post

Lowlight

Thanks for posting the map.  As a kid I often wondered where the street went that was at the side of St Enoch's station.   When I was an adult I never thought of going along there, until the memory was rekindled by the photos on this site, and it's too late now.

Osborne Street!  Now I can see where it went!

Yes!  Many thanks!

It might not be quite the right place to do it, but while I'm thanking, I'd like to give a general thanks to all the people on here who post such a fantastic range of photos, history, memories, etc, etc.

It's great looking at all this stuff
