making my way down there and stopped by security guards, told me I shouldn't  be in the park as they are responsible for my safety, so I asked them for a lift in their van    told me just take photos of the castle and stay away from the rest of the park. While taking said pic's another bloke from the house near the castle turned up told me same thing but I can take photographs from outside but under no circumstances should I enter the building. Now the funny thing is when I told him about meeting the security guards he said what guards I replied the blokes in the white van, he looked rather puzzled by that.

It was only the auld guy who stopped us a few years back. Said he was the owners father in law and told us about multi million pound plans for the site.

My Mrs gave him a sob story about all the happy times we had there and just wanted to see it again. He let us walk about for about an hour taking pics.

From the Scotsman nov 2014

DEVELOPERS looking to revive the derelict theme park at Loudoun Castle have unveiled ambitious plans for a 450 million holiday and leisure complex at the 610-acre site.

The Loudoun Castle Project a consortium including investment group EIF, construction consultancy Turner & Townsend, planning consultant RPS and heritage consultant Francis Shaw has submitted preliminary plans to East Ayrshire Council for a two-phase project that could create up to 2,500 jobs at the site near Galston.

methinks the theme parks doomed
