Drinking in the Pot Still on a Friday evening a few years ago, went in around 8/9pm.  Sat down and next to us, on a shelf, where everyone put their jackets was a single black office shoe, no owner.

Fair enough, not usual to see, but not entirely odd. 10 minutes later guy came up to us and said
"Strange question, but any of you seen a black shoe".
"Aye, it's just over there on the shelf" Mystery solved.
He came back over "Aye, that's not mine."

One small pub, two men missing shoes

Was in a Glasgow warehouse today and spotted something below a big dust cover.... Asked about it and was allowed to look ... it was one of those big street map thingys with the wind/roller handles on the side in mint condition. Cant remember the last time I saw one in fact think the last one I saw was the one that used to sit outside the Tourist Information place in George Square.

Unfortunately where I was photography is strictly not allowed and as they were a client I had to respect that decision fully. I was genuinely flabbergasted to see this bloody relic and was told I should actually see some of the other stuff they have.

I am hoping that this was an invite for later on.

One of the best bits of street furniture that we have lost. I think its time they made a return going by the amount of visitors to the city.

It doesn't need a 21st century revamp either although my preference was the one with a row of 30 buttons when pressed lit up a small lamp at the particular location of interest overlaid on a large map  IE: Railway Station, Tourist attraction, Hospital, Taxi Rank, Bus Station etc.

Like this one below from the brilliant Raymond Depardon collection illustrating how popular they were back in  1980 with grown men fighting each other to have a go.

Fjord that is exactly the thing I meant. As for the push button ones, was there not one of those outside St Enoch Station ? I have a very hazy memory of me and my sister playing with one of those while waiting on a bus to Castlemilk from the terminus.
