A comment on another thread gave me the inspiration for this one.

What old ads can you remember?

The other day at work some one said  "Just the man" and I finished with " Can you open this can, of McEwan's, the best buy in beer!"   I got an odd look until I explained

Usually too busy.

We used to blow off steam at the end of exercises with activities such as:

'Dress up member of your crew in drag and have them pose provocatively astride the barrel of the 40/60 Bofors gun.'

We would then have a procession of minesweepers with this bizarre site of dragged-up men straddling the gun barrel.

We used Big Doogie - who was about 7' tall ' - and had him use the ballastite rifle grenade as a dildo. Well he didn't actually 'use' it.

Off topic there but you just evoked a memory there.

The little kid weightlifter for the Bru ads
Canny bag of tudor ads set in Newcastle
Texan Bars
Football Crazies ad that was little more than a chant for little bacon flavoured balls.
Fairy Liquid ads that have ran for ever
Bisto Kids

To name but a few

"Nice one Cyril" tv advert for Mothers pride bread.

Six slices a day the well-balanced way, I think this was for all brands of bread due the falling consumption of the product.
here is a link for old commercials
