Nice photos Alex. I saw three young girls with what looked like jet packs on their backs, displaying flashy flatscreen TVs advertising the Buchanan Quarter.

Nice to see that the developers kept some older buildings, but this is just wrong .  Maybe it'll look better during a dark skies event.

Hi guys,

Thought I'd share with you a project that I've been working on over the last months that you might be interested in. I've been working on a phone app that allows you to create timelapse videos using your mobile, without the need for a fixed camera, called Overlapse.

The reason I mention it in this thread is that I've been testing it out on the building work of the Buchanan Quarters.

The app uses your own pictures as a guide to help you line up each shot you take. I created a YouTube vid of the Quarters being built using the app to show the results, which is here .. http://youtu.be/v_xN7HmGnFU .

We're going to be photographing some of the other building work around glasgow (like at Royal exchange square) and the app's going to be available to everyone shortly. But since you guys seem to be the glasgow development specialists I thought I'd share with you early. If anyone would like to try it out for themselves, and has an Android phone (iPhone version's being worked on just now), let me know and I can send you an early beta version!

Our website can be found at http://overlap.se

It's still in development and is getting a makeover shortly! Any feedback / Glasgow timelapse ideas really appreciated as well.

Cheers
Ben

The video looks impressive and as an app i think its a fantastic idea your link does not work fully so i have taken the option to include it here. I wish you all the luck in the world with this app as I am sure it will spark some interest around these parts.

Must say..I got the underground from Byres rd this morning after a bit of tomfoolery with a west end wench last night and was quite impressed when coming out and seeing the new development. Much better than what was there before though glad I took a load of pics prior to it getting knocked down
