I don't see how leaving excess packaging at the supermarket would force the manufacturers to cut down. Did the supermarkets send it all back to the manufacturers? _________________ There is no opinion, however absurd, which men will not readily embrace as soon as they can be brought to the conviction that it is generally adopted. |

The supermarkets would put pressure on the manufacturers as they had extra work to do in collecting this packaging and disposing of it. _________________ Gies a gonk ya dobber!!

Correct Alan, it started out for environmental reasons and also because consumers had to pay not only for the packaging of the product but also the price included the cost of the disposal of the packaging on top of the normal tax for general household waste, even if recycled. _________________ We've gone on holiday by mistake. |

Useful stuff, underwiring - it can either be used to support the infrastucture or to give the impression that an infrastructure exists to be supported.
As I recall, Jane Russell's had to be shipped to a Chinese yard for dismantling. |

Interesting fact of the day
The Germanic term " "Den Loeffel abgeben" = literally means "To hand over the spoon". It just simply means - "to die".
The background is that in the middle ages there used to be a big pot of food in the middle of the table and each person had their own spoon, often carved by themselves. Often the spoon was hung on the wall after someone passed away. And if a farm labourer left the farm, he was not allowed to take the spoon with him in the Black Forest area.
Another nice one for "to die" - "Sich die Radieschen von unten ansehen" - literally means "To view the radish from below". Six feet under!

I have discovered that living in an ambient temperature of over 20° for 72 hours, constantly - without even a bloody breath of a breeze to take the edge off, induces an overwhelming desire to kill someone. _________________ *If you're not on the list .. you're not gettin' in* |
