to Bob Hay in Australia.

Sorry so much time has passed since you posted the Meadowpark message but your correspondence with Dizz just caught my attention.

I'm Dizz & Georgies first cousin and a wee bit dizzy too. John and Jeannie were my aunt and uncle, my dad's name was James Leishman.
You mentioned the Winters & Mcgraths in your post well my grannie Leishman's maiden name was Mary McGrath. I remember Matty Winters I worked with him at Arrols, Dunn street, Bridgeton he was a crane operator (a job with a lot of responsabilties) and I was an apprentice.

From our summers spent at 8th ave Meadowpark families I still remember were the Campbells, the MacKays and the Ushers it was a great place for kids.

Steady the Jags.

Jim Leishman

hi i am new to this forum. I have been looking at the photos of the huts at meadowpark from years ago. There great, a pal of mine had a hut there years ago as well until he got a hut on a farm in ayr where i have a hut just now myself, our huts are just the same as the ones in meadowpark. We have about 11 huts on our site. i love getting down to ayr every weekend to it. Cold water wash, generator for power, and the dry toilet in a bucket, ha ha. Our huts have been there for over 70 years now i think

Any photos Wullie ?
The huts played an integral part of the Glesga getaway and their history is rich and diverse as were the folk who owned them. As history removes these sites to make way for the luxury hut few can afford it would be nice to see some of this documented before they are all gone.
