Everyone just wants to make money out of the internet... I remember the days when most of it was free

Explains why some of the Tinypic placemats have been appearing... If photobucket is on a cash driven exercise to save its ass.

Stu once the Americans claimed ownership of the Internet it put a price on everything.

Maybe someone here can fittingly photoshop Photobucket`s logo to "Shitbucket". And incorporate in that toy from Tam Shepard`s Joke Shop (Queen St), where the little skeleton hand comes out and snatches your penny away.

Apologies for the loss of all my photos from the site due to Photobucket trying to dip their hands in my pocket.

I thought I would have gotten away with it by opening another account before the bandwith limit was reached. Unfortunately I haven't managed to do that. I even tryed to delete some photos hoping that this would help but it hasn't so I will now have to give them some money to restore the photos.

I tried deleting older pics and even a few folders I wasnt using before but it
never made any difference either. I'm pissed off at their point-blank refusal
to allow us mere mortals to see these bandwidth stats.

It's naked racketeering.

I have reviewed my account and it appears that my bandwidth will be restored to zero in 8 days.

The Bandwidth limit is set to zero every month.

The choice is - do I wait 8 days or do I purchase extra storage which gives unlimited bandwidth

I am puzzled, I have paid $28?  for a few years, unlimited storage, a few months ago I was told my storage was at %70 and there was other packages on offer, god knows whats going, need to check my bank statement to see whats been deducted
Having said that, I have not heard anymore about upgrading

I have a bandwidth placemat on another forum from Photobucket thing is I only have about 30 images hosted there and around 20 of those are in gif format and less than 100kbs ... To me its an extortion thing... no doubt looking at who is using message boards for traffic and just chancing their arm. Photobucket were quite bad for this back in the early days then it got all reformed as the internet got cheap. Looks like in these austere times they are looking to empty your pocket without offering up the proof you are actually using up the bandwidth.

I have noticed that some of the folders on my photobucket account have been viewed more than those on my flickr account.

I have never tags any of the photos I place on photobucket and only have two followers. There is no log back of views from here as one of my most recent folders and the one which I have posted most photos here has received no views.

If the bandwidth scan related to the number of times photos are viewed? If this is how it works has Photobucket been arranging someone to view photos and thereby use up bandwidth?

Therefore if you make the photos private will that prevent future problems?

It is strange that all of a sudden after almost five years using this account it is only now using up the 10GB monthly bandwidth allowance.

Strange
