The SNP Government want Firearms Laws devolved to Scotland , Thus having a 2 tier system in the UK , N I has different Firearms Laws to the Mainland, it could mean that Airguns are Banned in Scotland but not England And Wales also with a possible change of Government in England and Wales the pistol shooting could be reintroduced, all within the time schedule for the games. Scotland could have its own laws, creating the 2 tier system.
An Airgun ban in Scotland would be implemented before 2014, which would mean, allowing airgun shooting at the games, in my view is very hypocritical. If you are going to ban it, it should be for everyone, no special circumstances at the Governments discretion.
Well if it's illegal then no one should be doing it....
To allow handguns to be brought into the city is asking for trouble.
(and just my honest opinion)
I honestly cannot fathom the fascination with firearms some people have perhaps it's something wrong with me ...
I have no desire to watch or get involved in the shooting of a paper target when hunting for dinner involves a trip to the supermarket.
I therefore fall on the side that the ban is a good thing... and fully agree with it's implementation. _________________ MY FLICKR

Well....how about a thought on it then, what other things are allowed at Olympic games and such, and not allowed as sport at other times? Silly answers are allowed too

What's that ski and shoot thingie they do, now that would be a sight along Eglinton Street.
Its called Biathlon and the UK including the Scots have done well at it over the years , thats one for the Winter Olympics , if they ever come to the Cairngorms?
This is the striking image that will sell the 2014 Commonwealth Games to the world.
A world-wide hunt was launched to find a company to design an image that will
become known around the globe. More than 60 agencies, including four top
international media groups, applied for the high-profile contract.
Glasgow-based Marque Creative, which also has offices in London and New York,
won the contract.
A team of eight people based in the three offices worked for months to provide
the logo for the Games. Today their work was unveiled at the Clyde Auditorium,
which will a venue during the Games.
The design has been kept a closely guarded secret, with only a handful of people
having had a glimpse of it.
Marque Creative’s senior designer Nick Tweedie said the concept behind the logo
is derived from the basis of all sport – who jumps the highest, swims the fastest and
lifts the heaviest.
The outer ring, in a strong, vibrant red, is divided into 20 sections to mark the fact
the Glasgow event will be the 20th Commonwealth Games. The next ring is yellow
and in 17 parts to represent the number of sports which will be competing.
The third ring in blue is in 11 sections to tie in with 11 days of competition. At
the heart of the logo is a green G for Glasgow.
Mr Tweedie said: "For us to win such a prestigious job was really fantastic for Glasgow
and for us as well."
As well as the logo, Marque Creative put together a package of design which will
be used in the run-up to and throughout the event.
This includes the colours which will be used, the type of print, advice on photographs,
animation, web design and film.
MrTweedie said: "Everything has been kept top secret but we have confidence and
faith in the logo and hope people will like it."
The main aim of the brand for the Glasgow Games is to offer its exclusive use to
companies to generate income through sponsorship.
The selection panel that chose and approved the final logo included Paul Stickley, head
of visual communication at Glasgow School of Art, Commonwealth and Olympic
hammer thrower Shirley Webb – known as Battleaxe on TV show Gladiators – and
two directors from the Glasgow 2014 organising committee.
