I was going to ask how many of the belt do you remember getting but you are all too young to even remember the belt.

I once got 6

It was still in effect when I was at primary, but got phased out when I was in
primary 4 or 5. This Maggie Thatcher look-a-like bitch gave me the belt for
no reason one time.

I hated soft ball. The bat wasn't big enough so I alway missed the ball which was too small.

You actually did not need to have done anything to get the belt. One teacher I had just belted everybody, the whole class, if she was at all ticked off. Some reasons for that I can remember was she "heard whispering" and worst of all was, one boy arrived late so she decided to "teach" us all to be on time. The same person used to take maddies and fling the chalk duster (not a soft cloth but attached to wood) at folk who were stammering over their reading. She had rules about how we would sit at our desk ie no elbows on desk, when she was talking we had to sit with arms folded and if you forgot, well she would just run at you and drag you out (screaming n shouting in your face the whole time)n and an "example" would be made of you. She got away with what now would be criminal child abuse. I have rellies who moan about childrens behaviour today in the classroom but nothing could be worse than that womans, she was abusive. Full stop. ps there was no point in complaining to other teachers/parents as it was always assumed that children`s bad behaviour needed and caused the discipline.

I liked Softball, cos I was one of only about 3 people who could hit a homerun.

One teacher primary school (thornwood) used to give 'black medicine' to you if you had a loud voice, never had her as a permanent one, but when a teacher was sick we got divvied up amongst other classes and got sent to her once, scared me shitless

Ah! schools sports, I loved cross country running ... all the way home for an early lunch. Only the suckers went back to school

I also liked to attend Smoking School held in the bogs during the playtime breaks. I learned some advanced smoke ring techniques from the bigger lads and how to make a three skinnner with added roach.
