What was "black medicine " ? I never cease to be shocked at the sheer terror that children were subjugated to in the name of education in the not so distant past. There was a culture of abuse which was never recognised but must surely have had an impact on whole generations.

School was awright in later years.... 5th & 6th year when the teachers arent such bastards

Hated PE.... see, cause I did'nt like football, I was automatically pegged as a non-sporting entity. One of the boys that thought themselves as sport god was going to fight with me because I brought him down with a perfectly fair tackle while playing rugby. Or surprised everyone during softball by sending the ball out of the field onto the street.... teacher trying to bowl lightly at first but got wise to it.

Hated school got an 'O' Grade in Dogging it...
Even got the obligatory certificate to prove it ..."Get this signed by your teachers"
Yer for the first week then dig out the tracing paper....
Then came the 'O' Grade in forgery...

Always remember getting dragged into a meeting and getting told i would never amount to anything and i should aspire to be like him (HEEDY)
Funny as i met him a few years ago selling big issues in Sauchiehall street...

Chemistry was a barrel of laughs never took it too serious spent most of the time i was actually in class getting excluded and told to sit in the hall.
Pissed that teacher off big time by actually passing the 'O' Grade.

Hated the place hated the bullies and hated the teachers...
Actually went along on the day they started to rip the place down.
Been derelict for a few years now but rumour has it they are building some sort of village for some sporting event on the former site.

It will be haunted by the ghosts of the kids tortured there on a daily basis.

Wee Minx

Moshi was played by making three small holes in the ground in a straight line about a yard apart. You threw an old penny to try and land it in the first hole then the second and third. On the way you could gain advantage over your opponent by their penny or knocking it out of the way by hitting it hard with your penny.

The winner got the opponent's penny.

Stu

The same thing happened to me. Whilst playing crab football I assaulted the best football player in the school to win the ball. He wasn't happy and chased me out the school every day for about a week.

That was called 'moats' in later years, but played with pound coins.
