I (mis) spent too much time in 'The Levvy' and various other Nitshill pubs during my youthful drinking days in the late 1970s/early 80s.
I won't miss it. |

Nice pic`s Alex
You brought back some memories there
I was in it a few time in the late 70`s and never felt comfortable in there as it seemed to be on the edge of kicking off at anytime _________________ I was in a Tunnel on another forum and I came out here. fcuk, who shut the door !

So who drove their chevvy to the levvy and was the levvy dry? The good ol' boys were drinking whisky and rye? singing this'll be the day that I die? _________________ Now coming at you with 95% more significance, 1% less salt and virtually fat free!

Brilliant observation Stuball; I well remember being in the Levvy sometime around 1977 when the S & N brewery delivery drivers were on strike. There was no draught beer (normally a surprisingly decent pint of McEwans 80/-), and I was drinking a bottle of Youngers Double Century. My cousin's husband Peter Doc walked in, stood at the bar and very loudly (and badly) sang those very words.
One of the few happy memories I have of the place, which is why I remember it so clearly! |

Progress is slow as anticipated with the demolition. So I thought I would post more photos of the interior which at this moment is being stripped out.
Firstly, a little story relating to the Levern Water.
MOST WANTED
Busy day at the office
Roll out the barrels
Play it again Sam

Sure hope a new owner for the piano can be found... would be such a waste otherwise. Kegs and gas cylinders to their respective owners :) _________________ Now coming at you with 95% more significance, 1% less salt and virtually fat free!

As far as I know everything was cleared out by the previous owner. Anything he left behind was for the skip. So I will try and have a look in the skip the nest time I am passing to see if there is anything of interest. and hopefully get a photo if there is. _________________ I had a dream today

The demolition gets underway in earnest:-
Someone filming the thing - perhaps another Urban Glaswegian?

Well done Neil.
I tried taking a couple of photos from the car later this afternoon but forgot to turn off the flash so they aren't usable. _________________ I had a dream today
