The image was taken by Chris Stein guitarist/founder of Blondie and appears in his book "Chris Stein/Negative - Me, Blondie, and the Advent of Punk"
he was her on/off boyfriend for yonks...Still does her photo-shoots to this day and was responsible for some cracking shots that were made into posters.

No. It's been posted elsewhere the wrong way around.

No. Dunlop Street is behind the photographer. 'North Drive' ran from St Enoch Square
to Dunlop (to Stockwell) Street, in between the station buildings and the Lewis' building.

Its the street off to the left here:

Dunlop Street, looking south, North Drive on the right:

The big clue in the Debbie Harry photo is the One Way sign.North Drive was a one way street allowing driving from St.Enoch Square to Dunlop Street only - the photo on this forum is the wrong way round.

I knew it was North Drive, forgot about Dunlop St running under the station ... at least I was looking in the right direction ....

Present day Osborne St runs parallel to the original North Drive along the back of Lewis' (now Debenhams) today ... but it is mainly for goods access to the shopping centre

Thanks okaydoak . It was the eingang Straße sign that confused me - admittedly, that is not a difficult thing to do.

Anyway, fantastic photo, whichever way round you look at it.

So, it was posted here the wrong way round (unless someone reversed the 'one way' sign and lobbed a couple of storeys off the hotel).
