The tunnel entrance after closure

Fantastic pictures james73!!

I don't get it though.  From maps I've looked at, it seems that the tunnel didn't come out until somewhere near the rotunda at Pinkston Road.  In the picture above though, light can be seen at the end of the tunnel, which would suggest that it actually came out at the other side of the M8 in what is now Sighthill Park.   I took a wander round yesterday on my way home from work, but couldn't find any sign of anything in the park

Does anyone know anything else about it?  I've done loads of searching, but can't find any pictures of the tunnel from the other side, wherever that may have been.  I'm heading down there sometime in the next week and I'll take some photographs when I'm there, but any additional info would be really appreciated.

The North portal of the old tunnel visible in that picture is at the location
of the "rotunda" at Pinkston Road.

It was landscaped in 1980 and there is now no access to it.

the tunnel came out next to st rollox railway works there it ran in a cutting and there was st rollox station it was very overgrown and then in the early 1990s they cut back all the vegitation and you could see the platforms.  I never took any photos at the time.
its now all been filled in and tesco extra has been built over the top of it.

Thanks for clearing that up.  I thought it looked too far for it to have come out at the rotunda - I'm not the best at calculating distances though

darrel - no it didn't. It came out at Pinkston Road where the wee rotunda is now.

Great picture.  So it would have been at the back of this building?

James is spot on ..the tunnel exists just next to where Broomhill is marked and the station is the rectangle next to St Rollox works

Funnily enough I've been sitting with a print out of that very map wondering if the rectangle was the station
