Hi all. I have done a full urban exploration now of the abandoned and disused Buchanan Street Tunnel. Full information and all 24 photographs can be found in the link below:

Excellent. These answer a few questions.

That vent in the roof of the tunnel I reckon was bang on half way down. As the shaft at the end, although we couldn't see any daylight, I definitely reckon it goes up into that small round brick building. There was evidence of ladders having once been there to get up and down the shaft, but they have been removed since.

Generally, the Buchanan Tunnel was fairly clean - not too much mud/sludge. No Graffiti either.

I t was extremely hard to get the last few photographs. I am sure Orion38 would happily tell you I was there for at least 16 minutes taking some of the final outcome photographs. The lighting was extremely difficult. I bumped the ISO right up because I can let away with any noise as noise adds detail to the tunnel environment. I am glad you all like the photographs and yes Cybers and James it does answer the many questions that have been asked about what is inside the tunnel and what is at the end of it hence why I really wanted to go back and visit the tunnel. At the end there is a lot of very slippy sandstone but apart from that the tunnel is very stright with a very slight curve to the right towards the northern portal. All in all a very enjoyable and fascinating visit to this amazing tunnel. Any more question you want to know about the tunnel feel free to ask away and I'll reply when I can:)

Best Regards

Good work lad's

However I took the liberty to tweak up the light levels in your pics cos it was like looking in a coal bunker at midnight with a pair of scant's over yer heid trying to make out any detail.

Also you could have lit the whole place up by using a torch and painted it with light on a long exposure and tripod, it's a piece of piss and way cheaper than an expensive flashgun in this kind of situation.

Apparently not... just gutted there wasn't a Skeleton to back up the urban myth.

I know its a piece of cake but it was really dark down there and I done the best I could to get a decent(ish) photograph, enough to make out above basic detail. We didnt have the best of torches. I may revisit, though I am very happy with what I acheived last night:)

I ain't knocking it mate you did good in the circumstances but if you want to get proper results you just need to invest in a decent torch and a bit of photoshop skills which will work wonders for your hard earned pics.

Just look at all the good shitz they knock out over on 28dl who regularly work in low light conditions.... it's an occupational hazard after all

Just remember that Dark is neither an excuse nor an obstacle.
