Norrie, I used to get in it on a relatively regularly basis when a couple of folk used to meet up after work as a kind of central point.  It certainly doesn't look like original fixtures and fittings to me, but it still retains a sort of traditional look about it.

Slightly lost here with the discussion about the Atholl Arms.

The pub at the bottom of Airdrie Street on the left looking at the photo is the Angus Bar. We lived in the house above that pub. Across the road on the other corner of Airdrie Street is the Squirrel Bar. At the top of Airdrie Street on the corner with Cowcaddens is the Kiwi Bar. This was my Dad's local.

If I am correct the Atholl Arms cant be seen in that photo

Alex, look at the very bottom right of the photo.  You can see the tower of the Pavilion Theatre.  Diagonally opposite that on the corner is the Atholl.

Hi alex, we think on the RHS of the photo, corner of Renfield st and Renfrew st is the Atholl Arms pub

No bother, sir! It had to be pointed out to me too! I think that's the difficulty with some of these photos in so far as so much has changed, with multiple buildings and streets disappearing, that it can be very tricky to identify locations which still remain!
