When I went to Uni in 1960s I passed the docks being infilled. Most of the rubble used was causey setts from the roads which were then all being tarmaced.
A small frigate built for an African state but unpaid for was 'parked' there for several years.

I believe some of the infill came from there. I'm sure I read it in one of my many books on the city The majority was from the tenements being demolished at the time in places like Townhead and Cowcaddens

I remember that street and the steps but when  was in the area taking photo I had to ask the name of whats left of Leckethill st
