Passed through it many times of course, but as a lifelong westender i've never really had a 'feel' for Bridgeton, aside from perhaps a fairly negitive impression.
What's it like to live & work there, especially around the cross area ?

I have a couple of photos I will try and post up at some point.

The Glasgow Gateway Office recently opened at the Cross and i know someone who works in the shop next door.

On a visit there a few years back I was surprised to see a couple of incidents. However they didn't affect me so I have never really had a problem the times that I have had to be there.

No, just working. But I thought i'd ask about living there as well, as residents would (probably) know the full sp
I'm a westender and hope to remain so.

Cheers Alex. What were the incidents if you don't mind me asking ?

Bridgeton isn't as bad as it used to be, It is still pretty well covered by public transport and the "bad" bits are covered by CCTV as most are these days.

Just try and avoid the back streets after dark and when it is marching season.

I never lived in Bridgeton but walked through it most days for a couple of years and never saw anything untoward.

Pondlife........... no need to be so polite Hugo.

I'm sure a man of your vocab could come up with a more suitable "Scummy Dirty Manky Midden Degenerate Neddy Junkie Waster" word to describe them.

Welcome back Alex where you been ...
Bridgeton is a lovely place full of vibrant colour with lots of wonderous sites...
According to the local drug addicts that is...
It's a sh*thole I make no bones about it it is a plook on the landscape thats needing squeezed.
It is the only area we refuse to cover in the east end...

But then again i have never found a problem down there at any time day or night ... though as Alex said wee dirty dank back streets should be avoided.

My bus passes through Bridgton and its mostly polish workers who get on and they don't pay on the bus because the driver is Polish as well,I think that's fine because if I got on a tram in Poland and the driver was from Glasgow there is f*** all chance of me putting £1.25 in his box.
