If i am over that way and its open i am always in there Having some of the Ice Cream.
I dont go in for the caramalised pears or apples nonsense as i like it plain....
Could not recommend it highly enough.
Back to the master-baker statememnt before.... There was a bakery somewhere near Boni's as we sometimes stopped off there early mornings when i worked in the chateau-au-lait on the way out to ayrshire for fresh warm scones with butter and the guys even gave us tea..
Wonder if its still there ?

Oops...didn't mean I was dissapointed in the food..wee old lady wasn't keen on pics..said other people had already been in doing that..so I didin't push it

Honest when I spoke with the wee old lady she was really nice, I posted another comment somewhere on here to explain. I asked her about the history of the cafe and they have been open since 1960, she looked a bit sad and said "i see all the people going by and i just think - have they forgotten about boni's", it was really tear jerking stuff. I told her about the cult following she has and i swear she was so happy. I promised i would bring her in some of the pictures people have posted and some of the lovely comments.
she looked dead chuffed...
Next saturday is good for me, someone name a time. Boni's here we come.
PS if you find any good reviews print them off or just make one up it will be nice to cheer the W.O.L. (wee old lady).
the ice cream is still lovely but i couldnt see the caramel apples on the menu, i would like some of that.

Dear Hugo and Scary,
there was me at Boni's on saturday - pissing rain, not much in the mood but made the effort.
All on my own... no really I met with my friends and introduced them to Boni's tcp coffee.
Wee old lady was dead chuffed to have customers and was chatting away. also to my suprise other customers came in as well. A lady with her two wee boys, and a carry out customer! the place was jumpin.
Ah well maybe next time.
