It's on the list, but for now the closest I'm getting is the boundary wall...

Hawick

Thanks for posting up the pics been a while since I was around there. Nice to see the scaffolding, a positive sign at last. Even though A listed I feared for its survival.

Such a glorious tower and a real city landmark, can be spotted all over the city.

Love to see inside there but pretty sure as of now its a bloody death trap

John

It's the security I'm more worried about Jock

I'm glad the council knocked back the proposals to flatten all but the tower last year. It's close to the Glasgow Uni student halls, I'm sure if they build it, they will come

A right turn off from Bisland Drive about 100 metres eastward from Whitworth Drive, or a left turn about 200 metres west from Parkside Gardens.

There was a revised Planning Application made by Scottish Enterprise who own the site to demolish most of the buildings. From memory this was passed about two years ago. They claimed it was costly to maintain the security around the site. They also experienced difficulty marketing the site due to the recession. The original plan retained a few of the buildings but unfortunately they were not being maintained to keep them wind and water tight so the deterioration resulted in them being classed as unsafe.

I am not sure what the current situation.

Anyone know if there any further plans for the hospital site? I took a walk up yesterday to try and have a good look at the Water Tower - some chance   Closest I could get was at the top of the new(ish) road leading to the school. However, there was a lot of activity going on at the Water Tower so work appears to be well underway.

Just wondering what they are planning to do with it once it's all restored

Great photos on here from a couple of years ago
