Glee in the park (Evening Times)
FAMILIES from across Glasgow took over the grounds of Pollok Park for
some great fun in the sun.
Thousands took part in the annual family fun day in the South Side park
and were rewarded with a great day out for all ages.
Traditional entertainers showed why the free festival is one of the
favourite dates on the city calendar.
This year the event celebrated its 30th birthday with a host of past
favourite acts and a few new faces.
Pirates rubbed shoulders with clowns in the old Pollok Estate, amid the
gardens that helped win the title of Europe's Best Park this year.
The Goldstar cheerleaders accompanied the music acts to get the crowd
moving.
Animal lovers had the chance to get close to some of their favourites,
including the city's Clydesdale horses, while the Strathclyde Police Dog
Display Team were in action chasing down stunt "criminals".
And the Drakes of Hazard rounded up some of the younger festival goers
as birds of prey soared above the crowd.
Other attractions included football, countryside crafts, a martial arts
display and a children's farm.

Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things. |

Unfortunately I wasn't able to go to Pollok Park on Saturday so it is good to see some photos of the events that took place. _________________ I had a dream today
