Hello streapadair

I have just joined this site and was wondering if you could supply a high res image of this street atlas?
My mother  lived in Ibrox and I'm trying to establish exactly where her street and house were.
Many thanks,
A.Sparkes

We generally don't supply hi-res copies but perhaps we can help you? Ibrox hasn't changed much and the only difference I can see from the map is the Motorway running parallel with Clifford Street. The layout is pretty much identical now.
We could even bring up with 1912 valuation data

Hi asparkes,

Welcome to the forum.

If you message me through the site with an address to send it to I'll burn you a CD of the atlas. Each double-page image is 6Mb. No charge.

Found this page while doing some research on railways in Glasgow.  I have a 1923-24 6inch to mile Post Office Plan of Glasgow by the same publisher Bartholomew.  It is more detailed but the street layouts are virtually identical.  The only significant differences I can find are that on your atlas the Glasgow Stations have their pre 1923 Big 4 Rail Company names - namely - North British Queen Street and Caledonian Railway Central Station, whereas in my map they have their post 1923 names - LM&S Central and LNER Queen Street.

This would date your map before 1923, but probably not much before that date.

streapadair:  I would love to pm you for a copy of the 1930 map of glasgow on cd, but I can't figure out how to pm you… :) When I was over your way in 2013 my cousin showed me a similar map only it was one big page that unfolded. Too big for ordinary photocopying in one go but could be treated like a poster at a higher cost. The style looked exactly like this wee book map. The year was the same I think. I hope to be back in August and plan on paying the poundage for a copy her map. In the meantime puleez send me one of yours?  :)) If possible I will post the other when I get it.

It's been brought to my attention that recent copies of the Atlas CD (since May 2015 I think) are missing pages 16/17 (from the N end of Townhead to the S end of Springburn). Administrative blunder, sorry.

If anyone would like me to send them the missing file, pm me or put a message on here.
