The Rage was shot in Glasgow on the low-to-no-budget scale and the 30-minutes is available to view free on YouTube.
Director/producer Carter Ferguson (police officer Harry Black in River City) has brought on board two other former River City actors, William Ruane and Derek Munn. There’s also familiar Scottish Clare Waugh and Chris Summers and Joe Cassidy.
The Rage was shot over four days in November 2007 and picked up a few extra sequences in February 2008. It is set in the world of Danny Boyle’s 28 Days/Weeks films series and is maybe a bit of a fans’ film.
The PR blurb is that the reasoning behind setting it in a world already known, is that cast and crew, who all gave their time for free to work on the piece, would know exactly what they were 'getting themselves in to' and that the finished film would have an interested audience already in place. In addition, a city which has been evacuated, is very attractive to any filmmaker working on a low budget.
The first two episodes of the film are online now:
Episode 1 - www.youtube.com
Episode 2 - www.youtube.com
Episode 3 - will be released on Friday 15 August 2008.
