Ahem, right... moving on from this outsourcing of cooncil personnel to the private sector...
A long, long time ago I read somewhere that the Tolbooth Bar at the Cross was where the hawf and hawf was invented. I’ve never managed to retrace the source, and I have wondered whether it’s just another unverifiable claim like Val Doro’s accreditation as the place where the fish supper was invented. Anybody any clues or sources on this? _________________ We're no supposed to talk about that. |

I read that in the Jack House book Heart of Glasgow. _________________ "This is like deja vu all over again." |

Thanks for that Hugo, though I never have read any of Jack House's stuff, so I presume it must have been someone quoting him that I read _________________ We're no supposed to talk about that. |

Heart of Glasgow is an essential read. Very well written and goes at a cracking pace. _________________ "This is like deja vu all over again." |
