If you have more pictures taken at the same time I would really love to see them.

Where abouts is the Ice House located?

Can anyone help me track down either of the following:

1. Where the zoo computer records might be now, or how to access them.

2. Information on (a) the zoo's elephants (circa 1950's) and their fates, and (b) the water well.

Any help appreciated.

D. :)

I've not been there since 1988 and it looks more like a zoo now than it did then.
I have an enduring image of a half crazed polar bear in it's enclosure wearing a traffic cone on it's head... I kid you not!

Tragically it died of dementia a year or so later.
I can confirm that seen it a few times, the bear was chained on one leg to the ground and could only swing side to side (animal cruelty) have a few photos from 70s 80s of the zoo It was called Calderpark zoo then.
