Hi Sandrad,I remember the terminus well,in fact posted a bit about it on here a while back. Also the sweetie shop at the bottom of the Kirk Brae and the one opposite the Levern School on Prestwick Street. No one on here remembered that one when I posted a bit about it either.I just assumed that I must be a bit older than most on the site.I take it that you were a resident of either Nitshill or Craigbank before moving to Oz. _________________ hairyfeet

I've got a bit of a backlog to clear before I get to them... but I will :)
They are quite creepy. 2 of them are huge and really long. Although the floors have filled with years of leaves and dirt making a soft compost like surface that you cant walk on without going up to your knee in it. It's just a normal looking wooded area on a hill with a couple of mounds then suddenly theres a 10' wide gap with concrete walls and a 8' drop! _________________ Now coming at you with 95% more significance, 1% less salt and virtually fat free!
For anybody thinking about getting adventurous and visiting this location, I strongly advise against it. It's a long and difficult walk to get there involving crossing fields of cows and pushing through a thick overgrown forest with thorns and all other things that bite, sting and cut. Also, if you arent careful, you are liable to falling in one of the trenches and the floor is a thick compost layer comprising of 100 years of dead leaves, animals and rain. I dont regret going there in any way and I smile at the laugh we had struggling to get there and though the forest.... but at the end of the day, it isnt worth the bother _________________ Now coming at you with 95% more significance, 1% less salt and virtually fat free!
Stu cheers for posting those pics. I have a very vague memory of being there, but didnt have fight through the forest or undergrowth it was a clear path then.. say 1970/71

Were they deeper back then? The concrete blocks in the long trenches are almost covered in some places and nobody is sure just how far down they go. It's hard to estimate the depth now _________________ Now coming at you with 95% more significance, 1% less salt and virtually fat free!
That`s hard to answer Stu as I was about 9 or 10 at the time so everything seemed bigger then. _________________ I was in a Tunnel on another forum and I came out here. fcuk, who shut the door !
