Also managed to find the Provan Mill Gasworks north portal. Getting to it is starting to get a little tricky thanks to nature taking over. Pretty safe to assume that fence is pretty secure:
The tunnel also looked to have a few inches of water in it. Does the south portal still exist for this tunnel?
Provanmill Gasworks tunnel is now blocked on the other side, im sure it came out a Germiston just at the Blind tunnel. The showman's guild was there and its all houses now. _________________ Recedite, plebes! Gero rem imperialem!

This tunnel came out on the south side of Royston Road and has long since
been landfilled. The "blind tunnel" is the road tunnel just next to the Gasworks
tunnel portal shown above, which carries Darnick Street under the Glasgow
to Cumbernauld railway line. The blind tunnel is now controlled by traffic lights
at either end but for years it was a case of a leap of faith....

I used to love it as a kid being on a taxi going through the Blind Tunnel. They would blast their horns and flash their lights till they got out safely at the other end. It genuinely was completely blind because of the 90-degree turn at the Germiston side. _________________ Oh no, said Thomas, I sound like an out of work Beatle
Hi all. I've updated the Abandoned and Disused Railways Kelvingrove Tunnel photographs gallery on my site. All photographs are now fully captioned and I've added a lengthy (full information) commentary box also. The lin to the gallery can be found below.
How about posting some here? The forum does not exist for you to link your own site. _________________ Now coming at you with 95% more significance, 1% less salt and virtually fat free!
I already did post pics Stuball. That was just to let you know I've add captions to the photographs and a commentary box. The information I have on my website regarding Kelvingrove Tunnel would be quite a lengthy thread for you all to view if you do not want to view it in the first place so therefore a link for people wanting to do a good bit of reading (hence the link being optional)
Photo showing the technique used to build arched tunnels
Brilliant photo Kev... Where the heck did you find that ? _________________ MY FLICKR
